An URGENT Message from my Mom

Hi Guys!,

As you know, it’s Lynsey’s 26th birthday on Tuesday (tomorrow)… and as you ALSO know, since she’s not feeling up for it this year because of the chemo, we’re all striving to do acts of kindness on her behalf to make it “26(acts of kindness) for 26(years)”!

Well this is all well and good, but I decided as one of MY acts of kindness to “up the ante” on this plan… Instead of 26 for 26, I’d like to put out the challenge to everyone to make it TEN TIMES that number!

That’s right… 260 random acts of kindness to be completed on Lynsey’s birthday, October 28th (or close to it at least)!

To make this happen, I’m asking for your help. Here’s what I’m hoping you can do…

1) Complete (at least) one random act of kindness yourself that day. (You’ve already done THIS part with our dinner date!!)

2) Ask TWO friends or family members to also complete an act of kindness that day, and request that THEY in turn, ask 2 of THEIR friends/family to do the same.

3) Email either Lynsey OR me to let us know what you and your friends/family are planning to do that day so we can keep track of how many participate.
Here’s Lynsey’s address–> lynsey.hodgson@gmail.com Here’s mine–> mnairn@uoguelph.ca

Acts of kindness can be as simple as donating clothing to a local charity or buying a coffee for a stranger – OR they can be as big as you like!!
Kindness comes in ALL sizes!

And please don’t feel limited to just ONE act of kindness …or to only inviting TWO other people to participate! Feel free to inspire as many others as possible to get involved on Tuesday in celebration of Lynsey – just let us know how many are participating and what kindness(es) they complete, so we can keep track and hopefully meet my MUCH-WISHED-FOR goal of “10 times 26” acts of kindness!

Who knows… maybe before long, “random acts of kindness” won’t be random anymore, they will just be what we ALL do EVERY day!

Many thanks for anything you can do to participate with some selfless acts of kindness for others – and a happy birthday for Lynsey.

cheers for now,
– Mary
