CTV News Kitchener June 10

Hey Friends!

Steve and I will be appearing on CTV Kitchener tomorrow  – June 10 on the 6:00pm and 11:30pm news – and the follow day – the noon news on June11, to share our cancer experience, the stress of paying for chemo, and our frustrations with the Ontario medical system.  We are part of a three part series that airs Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday to address the cost of cancer care in Ontario.

The reporter reached out to the Ministry of Health to ask for their comments and was told “the government will not comment on the content in the series during an election campaign period.” CRAZY if you ask me!!

THANK YOU for all the amazing support over the past week. Your pictures, donations, gifts, kind words, and love has been amazing and so inspirational! I really appreciate all of the support… Steve and I could not do this alone. Means so much to know that we have such awesome people supporting us. 

I am officially one week into treatment …. one week down… 51 more to go!! tt has been a rough week…. sleep has been non-existent and my nausea still lasts most of the morning. I am exhausted. I just started an anti-anxiety medication to help me sleep and I am really hoping that it kicks in soon. Right now overnights are my enemy!

I know I shared this before but I just wanted to again share the crowd funding page that some of my amazing friends have set up. I was hoping that you could share it on your Facebook, Twitter, e-mail, etc. to get the word out there. The more shares/likes/etc. the greater reach the site will have and the more successful the campaign will be. You don’t have to donate (you are all helping in such meaningful ways already), but I would REALLY appreciate it if you could share the crowd funding page – this will help us reach our goal. Thank you from the very bottom of my heart

We are off to the annual Young Adult Cancer Canada (YACC) Conference in Toronto this weekend. Can’t wait to reconnect with old friends and make new ones. Promise to blog about it when I can!
